As we approach the centennial of her birth, Lena Horne’s legacy lives on as we are transported back in time to remember, relate and relish with the one and only. Lena: A Moment With A Lady, set in 1981, Lena, played by Syndee Winters (Lion King, Pippin, Motown) constructs a narrative through words and music of some of her most pivotal personal and professional moments, which made her the multifarious women we all come to love. On a mission to share the truth and overcome adversity, she unexpectedly opens crevices that she has eluded for many years She’s recognized as of the most influential African-American pioneers in entertainment. Ms. Horne collaborated with some of greatest musical artists of the 20th century, shattered the color barrier in Hollywood, and she was heavily involved with the civil rights movement. Lena Horne is not only recognized as a timeless beauty, inside and out, but she is cherished as an American Icon.
